On Wednesday night, a US Army helicopter collided with American Airlines flight 5342,
killing three crew members and 64 passengers. The helicopter was part of a training exercise
for a White House evacuation plan. While social media speculated it was linked to a Continuity
of Government (COG) mission, the Army confirmed the training, The identities of two crew members
were released, but the name of the third crew member, a female co-pilot, was withheld at her
family’s request. The crash, near Ronald Reagan National Airport, was caused by air traffic
controller shortages. Both planes crashed into the Potomac River, and black boxes from both aircraft were recovered
