Suzanne Somers, Three’s Company and Step by Step Actress, Dead at 76

Suzanne Somers, famous for her roles in “Three’s Company” and “Step by Step,” has passed away at 76, just before her 77th birthday.

She had battled breast cancer for over 23 years. Her publicist shared, “Suzanne was surrounded by her loving husband Alan, her son Bruce, and her immediate family.” The family, originally planning to celebrate her birthday, will now honor her extraordinary life.

Suzanne’s husband, Alan Hamel, praised her resilience, mentioning her recent intensive physical therapy. In July, she revealed her breast cancer had returned, but she remained determined to fight it with alternative and conventional treatments. She thanked Alan and her family for their unwavering support.

Suzanne Somers had iconic TV roles and authored over 25 books, becoming a New York Times best-selling author. She was also known for her health and beauty business ventures, including the ThighMaster exercise equipment.

She is survived by her blended family, including Alan, her son Bruce, stepchildren, Stephen and Leslie, and six grandchildren. A private family burial is planned, with a memorial in November.
