My 54-Year-Old Mom Got Sick and Had to Quit Her Job

When my mom fell seriously ill with pneumonia, I dropped everything—my lease, my freedom, my plans—to take care of her. She returned to work, I bought a squeaky used car, and together, we started over. Because family, at its best, is grace in motion.
