Arizona Police Lieutenant Brian Zach and his wife have officially adopted a young girl named Kaila after he rescued her from an abusive situation in 2018. Officer Zach comforted Kaila while waiting for detectives to take her to the hospital, and he was deeply moved by the experience. Kaila had suffered multiple injuries due to abuse, and criminal charges were filed against her caretakers. When child protective services couldn’t immediately find a placement for Kaila, the Zachs stepped in and took her into their family.
