American Idol star Doug Kiker dead at 32 as family issues heartbreaking statement

Doug Kiker, known as “The Singing Garbage Man” and an alum of American Idol season 18, passed away at 32 on March 10.

His cause of death has not been revealed. Kiker’s unexpected passing left his family unprepared, with his sister Angela sharing an emotional post on social media.

Kiker, a father of two, had a memorable audition on American Idol with “Bless the Broken Road” by Rascal Flatts. Though he didn’t make it past Hollywood week, his performance earned praise. A GoFundMe page has been set up to assist with funeral expenses.

Kiker had faced legal troubles in 2021 after a domestic violence arrest, but he remained a beloved figure to many.
