This little girl could not wait any second longer to hug her father whom she hadn\u2019t seen in over eight months.After two-year-old Karis Oglesby spotted her dad 1st Lt. Daniel Oglesby in formation during the middle of a homecoming ceremony in Colorado this past Tuesday, she made a run for him.<\/p>\n
A video caught Karis scurrying across the gymnasium in her sparkling gold boots and red, white and blue outfit. When she got to her dad, he bent down and gave her a hug before nudging her to teeter back over to her seat.<\/p>\n
\u201cI wasn\u2019t worried about maintaining the integrity of the formation,\u201d 1st Lt. Oglesby, who recently returned from Kuwait, told ABC News today. \u201cThe homecoming ceremony is all about our families who\u2019ve had to sacrifice eight, almost nine, months without their loved ones. I was so happy to see my awesome little girl.\u201d<\/p>\n
Oglesby added that his toddler\u2019s impulsive run for a hug \u201cwas a pleasant surprise.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI had left in February, and we were close, but I wasn\u2019t sure how much she would remember me and what her reaction would be when I came back,\u201d he said. \u201cI was so happy that she was excited to see me \u2014 so excited that she couldn\u2019t even wait for the quick ceremony to be over first.\u201d<\/p>\n
The 33-year-old father added that he just came back in time for Karis\u2019 birthday tomorrow. She turns three.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf you thought she was excited to see me, just wait until when we go to Chuckie Cheese or the North Pole tomorrow,\u201d he said. North Pole is a local amusement park in Colorado Springs.<\/p>\n
Oglesby has a four-year-old daughter named Layla, and he said his girls and their mom \u201care going to be the bosses around here\u201d for the next few weeks.<\/p>\n
