An elderly man was walking down the street when he was accosted by a particularly dirty and shabby-looking homeless man who asked him for a couple of dollars for dinner.<\/p>\n
The man took out his wallet, extracted ten dollars and asked,<\/p>\n
\u2018If I give you this money, will you buy some beer with it instead of dinner?\u2019<\/p>\n
No, I had to stop drinking years ago, \u2018the homeless man replied.<\/p>\n
\u2018Will you use it to go fishing instead of buying food?\u2019 the man asked.<\/p>\n
\u2018No, I don\u2019t waste time fishing, \u2018the homeless man said. \u2018I need to spend all my time trying to stay alive.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u2018Will you spend this on greens fees at a golf course instead of food?\u2019 the man asked.<\/p>\n
\u2018Are you NUTS!\u2019 replied the homeless man. \u2018I haven\u2019t played golf in 20 years!\u2019<\/p>\n
\u2018Will you spend the money on a woman in the red light district instead of food?\u2019 the man asked.<\/p>\n
\u2018What disease would I get for ten lousy bucks?\u2019 exclaimed the homeless man.<\/p>\n
\u2018Well, \u2018said the man, \u2018I\u2019m not going to give you the money. Instead, I\u2019m going to take you home for a terrific dinner cooked by my wife.\u2019<\/p>\n
The homeless man was astounded.\u2019 Won\u2019t your wife be furious with you for doing that? I know I\u2019m dirty, and I probably smell pretty disgusting.\u2019<\/p>\n
