In theory at least, the better you do your job or the more you do it with a smile, the more money you\u2019ll make.<\/p>\n
But sometimes, your tips aren\u2019t about you \u2014 they\u2019re about your customers. And they can make you lose faith in humanity \u2014 or restore it.<\/p>\n
That\u2019s what a waiter from Los Angeles, California recently found out when he received a $3.28 tip.<\/p>\n

\u201cNothing more frustrating than when I get little to nothing for a tip and the customer is smiling and thanking me profusely as they exit,\u201d the waiter wrote.<\/p>\n
The stingy tip came from a group of four teenagers and it made the waiter question the way the teens\u2019 parents raised them.<\/p>\n
But 10 days later, a letter came that completely changed his mind.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve been serving a long time,\u201d the waiter wrote. \u201cNothing like this has ever happened to me or anyone.\u201d<\/p>\n
The waiter added on Imgur, \u201cThese kids came back another day and left this for me at the front desk with $18 and some change.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also had a message for the teens themselves. \u201cI don\u2019t know how you learned or educated yourself on tipping, but I really appreciate the effort and kindness. I hope your Homecoming was fantastic!\u201d<\/p>\n
Now, the teens\u2019 letter has gone viral, with people everywhere praising them and their parents.<\/p>\n
