<\/p>\nA woman has cancelled her date after he refused to wear pink to the Barbie movie.<\/p>\n
She took to Reddit\u2019s \u2018Am I The A**hole\u2019 forum to say how excited she was about seeing Greta Gerwig\u2019s film that has taken the world by storm.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Barbie movie means a lot to me, I\u2019ve been looking forward to this movie for so long,\u201d she wrote on social media.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve asked my boyfriend to go to the cinema with me, both dressed in pink. It would show that he supports me, and it\u2019d just be fun.\u201d<\/p>\n
She continued: \u201cI told him wearing pink is minimum effort, he says minimum effort is him coming along to the movie. AITA for finding this unreasonable?\u201d<\/p>\n
The woman added that she wanted to make a whole event out of it, such as taking pictures at the booth in their matching outfits.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe pics would be for our eyes only, not social media,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve decided to cancel the date since the mood is already ruined. Despite what the title says, we\u2019ve made this decision together.\u201d<\/p>\n
She added that she wasn\u2019t \u2018asking for a lot\u2019 and merely wanted him to unleash his inner Regina George to wear a pink shirt.<\/p>\n

The anonymous woman said if the roles were reversed and he asked her to wear one of those Oppenheimer hats to the cinemas, she would do it in a \u2018heartbeat\u2019.<\/p>\n
However, many on social media sounded off in the comments, siding with her date.<\/p>\n
According to many, he was \u2018Kenough\u2019 pink or not.<\/p>\n
One person said: \u201cDon\u2019t pressure your partner into something you know is not comfortable for them. If they say no, respect and move on.\u201d<\/p>\n
Another commented: \u201cIsn\u2019t it enough that he agreed to watch the movie?\u201d<\/p>\n
A third said: \u201cWhy is he forced to wear something he doesn\u2019t want to? Wouldn\u2019t someone be upset that a partner is forcing them to wear something they don\u2019t want to?\u201d<\/p>\n
But some claimed that man should\u2019ve just complied.<\/p>\n

While another chimed in: \u201cHim not doing it shows how fragile his masculinity really is. Imagine letting a colour make you feel un masculine LMAOOO.\u201d<\/p>\n
Barbie is turning into a very interesting way to work out whether people are compatible with one another.<\/p>\n
The movie has sparked a lot of outrage amongst some people for being \u2018anti-male\u2019, even though the director says this isn\u2019t the message.<\/p>\n
This reaction and Barbie\u2019s positive feminist messaging in the movie has led some people to use it as a way to gauge their relationship.<\/p>\n
Essentially, ask your boyfriend or the man you\u2019re dating if he wants to see Barbie, and then note his reaction.<\/p>\n
It asks: \u201cHow does he react when you tell him you want to go with him? What are his thoughts on why certain things are happening in the movie?\u201d Among the questions was also: \u201cWhat are his thoughts on how Ken was portrayed?\u201d<\/p>\n
People are then told to see what the reaction is and go with your heart.<\/p>\n
