The inquiry against Donald Trump centers on an alleged $130,000 \u201chush money\u201d payment made to adult film star Stormy Daniels in 2016.<\/p>\n
The indictment, verified by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg\u2019s office, made Trump the first former president in US history to be charged with a crime. Trump is charged with 34 felony charges of falsifying company records.<\/p>\n
He pleaded not guilty to falsifying company records to conceal embarrassing information before the 2016 presidential election (in other words, bribing Stormy Daniels not to divulge their affair).<\/p>\n
In May 2018, he verified the existence of a non-disclosure agreement drafted by his attorney, Michael Cohen, with Daniels. However, the then-president maintained that no campaign funds were involved.<\/p>\n
After appearing in court in New York City, Trump promptly flew back to Florida, where he delivered a speech to supporters, including numerous Republican officials, later that night.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors indicated last Tuesday, according to CNN, that they plan to present the scope of what they have discovered within the next 65 days. Trump\u2019s legal team has until August 9 to file motions, and the prosecution has until September 19 to respond.<\/p>\n
According to a person \u201cwho has been briefed on the procedures for the former president\u2019s arraignment,\u201d Trump was not handcuffed, placed in jail, or forced to take a mugshot.<\/p>\n
The Secret Service, New York Court officials, and Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg\u2019s office had concluded that there was no cause to do so. The primary rationale for handcuffing defendants is that they may constitute a risk or harm to others. However, Trump was not determined to be either because Secret Service agents usually protect him.<\/p>\n
Trump\u2019s team said in a letter to Judge Juan Merchan that cameras in the courtroom should be denied \u201cbecause it will create a circus-like atmosphere at the arraignment, raise unique security concerns, and is inconsistent with President Trump\u2019s presumption of innocence.\u201d<\/p>\n
The next hearing in the Trump case has been scheduled for December 4.<\/p>\n
It is unknown what happened in the courtroom. However, in an interview with Tucker Carlson last Wednesday, Trump expressed his perspective.<\/p>\n
Regarding Tucker Carlson Tonight, Trump summarized the proceedings at the criminal court. He claimed that officials, including police officers, were crying and \u201cpouring down their eyes.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThey were incredible,\u201d claimed the former president of his staff. \u201cWhen I went to the courthouse, which is also a prison in a sense, they signed me in, and I\u2019ll tell you, people were crying.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThose who work there.\u201d Professionally, there are no issues with bringing in killers, and they see everyone,\u201d he stated. \u201cIt\u2019s a hard place, and they were crying.\u201d They were sobbing. \u2018I\u2019m sorry,\u2019 they said.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, Trump has maintained that he is innocent and that no charges have been filed against him. While the former president remains in the spotlight, his wife, Melania Trump, has kept a modest profile.<\/p>\n

Melania also declined to attend the indictment charges hearing in New York. But according to a PageSix source, Trump begged his wife to return to his side as he tried to rally support from his voters moving forward.<\/p>\n

So why has Melania done her utmost to remain outside of the spotlight? According to Lauren Wright, a political scientist at Princeton University, it was a deliberate choice.<\/p>\n
\u201cThroughout Trump\u2019s presidency, when the Stormy Daniels issue came up, Melania would assert her independence in one way or another, either avoiding the topic or, most famously, contradicting those who claimed to know her feelings about the alleged extramarital dalliance,\u201d she told the Daily Mail.<\/p>\n
Yet all might not be as calm and settled as it seems, despite Melania being seen in public with her husband again.<\/p>\n
According to former White House aide Stephanie Grisham, Melania will likely not support her husband in the courtroom moving forward.<\/p>\n
Melania\u2019s former Chief of Staff told Inside Edition that Melania doesn\u2019t have any sympathy for Donald, as she\u2019s furious about what he did.<\/p>\n
\u201cI would be very surprised.\u201d \u201cI\u2019d be surprised if she appeared in court,\u201d Grisham added.<\/p>\n
\u201cBecause it has to do with Stormy Daniels. It\u2019s not in her to stick by her man in such a situation.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cShe\u2019s not giving him much moral support, and I\u2019m sure she\u2019s thinking, \u2018You got yourself into this mess.\u2019\u201d \u201cI\u2019m not going to walk alongside you and support you as you try to get out of it,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, Stephanie stated that Melania was horrified with Donald after learning about his alleged involvement with Daniels.<\/p>\n

However, there are differing opinions on the matter. For the holiday meal at Easter, a source told PageSix that Melania didn\u2019t want anyone accompanying her and her husband.<\/p>\n
