A six-year-old boy\u2019s drawing and how his teacher reacted to it caused quite a stir on the internet and divided users\u2019 opinions.<\/p>\n
Namely, the parents sharing this story explained how the teacher called them one day and said they needed to go to the school for some serious talk.<\/p>\n
Before they went to their son\u2019s school they asked him if he did anything wrong, but he simply replied that his teacher didn\u2019t like what he drew.
\n\u201cWe went in the next day and his teacher pulled out the drawing and said, \u2018I asked him to draw his family and he drew this, would you mind explaining?\u2019\u201d the father shared on his social media.<\/p>\n
The drawing depicted what looked like four people with cords around their necks. And well, if anyone didn\u2019t know what the boy was trying to draw the drawing itself does seem alarming.<\/p>\n
The mom and dad explained that the photo actually showed the family snorkeling off the Bahamas.<\/p>\n
The dad\u2019s post, however, opened an online discussion of whether the teacher\u2019s act of alarming them over the drawing was justified or not.<\/p>\n
Some said that she should have asked the child about it first, but others argued that a six-year-old could not be even telling the truth.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is bloody hysteria,\u201d one person wrote. \u201cSeriously, who needs that drama.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cEmergency meeting over this? I know it\u2019s not the best drawing but I think it\u2019s pretty clear\u2026\u201d another user wrote.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat kind of teacher was this?\u201d another wondered. \u201cChildren are innocent\u2026 they take pleasure from innocent drawings.\u201d<\/p>\n
Those in favor of the teacher\u2019s reaction said things like, \u201cI would want to know, even if it\u2019s a false alarm\u2026 it\u2019s better safe than sorry,\u201d and \u201cThe teacher did the right thing. These interventions have saved lives. Seriously.\u201d<\/p>\n
