There\u2019s a reason why music has been a staple of cultures all around the world for as long as humans have been\u2026 well, human.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Music connects us all on a profound level; it inspires us, emboldens us, hits us with nostalgia and caresses us with emotion. It can do all that and much more, which is why it plays such a pivotal role in our lives even today.<\/p>\n

Indeed, it\u2019s testament to the true greatness of certain songs that they\u2019re able to stay relevant and beloved across the years and decades in an environment that\u2019s about as competitive as one can get.<\/p>\n

The power of music<\/h3>\n

In an industry that\u2019s always striving to latch on to what\u2019s new, in a world where thousands of new songs are released every day, there are those songs that simply refuse to be forgotten.<\/p>\n

If you ask me,\u00a0Amazing Grace\u00a0<\/em>is one such number. Through various iterations it has more than stood the test of time, and at this point it\u2019s a favorite of millions in one form or another.<\/p>\n

On a personal note, I think it\u2019s a beautiful piece of music that rightly deserves its place among the pantheon of all-time classics. And that was before I saw the version played by 200 bagpipes!<\/p>\n

If you know the video I\u2019m referring to, then I\u2019m sure you won\u2019t mind having another listen. If you\u2019ve never seen it, then get ready for a treat.<\/p>\n

It\u00a0begins with\u00a0a single singer standing in a crowd of bagpipe players, with his voice slowly beginning to blend with the music. As the singer journeys to his crescendo, a sole bagpipe assumes control of the melody, slowly delivering a hauntingly beautiful conclusion to the first verse.<\/p>\n

Over 200 bagpipes join in for a rousing second verse, producing an unforgettable performance that\u2019s sure to grab your attention\u2026 and not soon let go.<\/p>\n

As I said at the beginning,\u00a0music\u00a0has a way not just of connecting us all, but taking us on a rollercoaster of emotions based on the intentions of the artist. This might not be the first time I\u2019ve been given goosebumps by\u00a0Amazing Grace,\u00a0<\/em>but it\u2019s certainly a piece that made me reflect on all the things I have to be appreciative about.<\/p>\n
