The \u201cMaggie May\u201d singer has been topping the charts since the start of his career.<\/p>\n

So, when you go to one of his shows, expect electrifying performances and some surprises here and there.<\/p>\n

He recently concluded his UK Tour in Edinburgh with a sweet surprise.<\/p>\n

Rod Stewart sang his hits like \u201cAddicted to Love,\u201d \u201cFirst Cut is the Deepest,\u201d \u201cMaggie May,\u201d \u201cHave I Told You Lately?,\u201d and \u201cDa Ya Think I\u2019m Sexy?\u201d<\/p>\n

All his songs had the crowd grooving all night, but they weren\u2019t prepared for what was about to happen near the end of his show.<\/p>\n

Rod Stewart sang another of his greatest hits, \u201cSailing,\u201d and his 94-year-old sister joined him on stage.<\/p>\n

He was donning his sparkling black-and-white striped shirt when his sister Mary approached him and placed a sailor\u2019s hat on him.<\/p>\n

Of course, it\u2019s a sailor\u2019s hat to fit the performance!<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is my sister! 94!\u201d he proudly exclaimed.<\/p>\n

Mary waved to the audience, simply enjoying the moment as she joined her brother on stage.<\/p>\n

She wrapped one arm around her brother and joined him singing the song.<\/p>\n

It was such an adorable moment, and the fans absolutely loved it.<\/p>\n

In an interview with The Mirror, Sir Rod admitted that that moment meant a lot to him.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt 94, she\u2019s on a rock\u2019n\u2019roll stage and loving it. She has and continues to teach me about life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sir Rod Stewart hugged Mary during the interlude before the backup singers joined them.<\/p>\n

It was such a beautiful moment to witness before he closed his show and entire tour that night.<\/p>\n

But the two were not always this close.<\/p>\n

Sir Rod was the youngest of five children with two older brothers and sisters.<\/p>\n

His sister, Peggy, passed away when she was only 40, while his two brothers passed away late last year, only two months apart.<\/p>\n

This tragic loss in their family brought Mary and Rod closer than ever.<\/p>\n

Losing his \u201cbest mates\u201d was hard on Sir Rod, but he had Mary to help him push forward and carry on.<\/p>\n

He was vocal about how his family was his strong support system when he started his career, and he still has Mary by his side to support him in his career.<\/p>\n

This is despite the concern that his children have over his health.<\/p>\n
