At 98 years old, Ranna is still making new friends.
\nShe\u2019s recently become best friends with an owl who visits her at her Scottsdale, Arizona home just about every day.<\/p>\n

But Ranna believes that the owl\u2019s presence is a special omen from above.<\/p>\n

She believes the owl is a sign from her late husband.<\/p>\n

The owl first appeared on Ranna\u2019s balcony exactly two years from the day of her husband\u2019s celebration of life ceremony.<\/p>\n

The owl loves to talk to Ranna.
\nSometimes he\u2019ll sit on her balcony all day and even tries to hop on her lap.<\/p>\n

Ranna\u2019s granddaughter, Shai Ward, found the relationship between Ranna and the owl to be absolutely incredible.<\/p>\n

She documented it in a video and shared it online where it ended up going viral. The video shows Shai coming out onto the porch to greet the owl.<\/p>\n

\u201cLook at my grandma\u2019s weekly visitor. Oh hey,\u201d she says to the owl.<\/p>\n

He blinks at her as if to say hello.
\n\u201cThis guy comes and hangs out with my grandma every so often,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s when the owl does a funky little head jive.
\n\u201cWe think he\u2019s my grandpa,\u201d Shai said. \u201cBecause you know, why wouldn\u2019t he be.\u201d<\/p>\n

The owl looks up at her after that.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy grandparents were best friends, who deeply respected one another. You felt the love around them and from them,\u201d Shai said, according to Good News Network.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s amazing is that the owl lets you get fairly close to him.<\/p>\n

While he doesn\u2019t \u201ctalk\u201d to Shai, he talks a lot to Ranna.
\nRanna walks right up to the owl and starts to hoot at him, prompting him to hoot right back at her.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery time he sees her, he just starts talking,\u201d Shai said. \u201cSeriously, [it\u2019s] the coolest thing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ranna loves spending time with her owl buddy. You can tell they have a strong bond.
\n\u201cI just can\u2019t get over those eyes. What do you see up here?\u201d she asks her owl buddy. \u201cYou\u2019re not going to tell me? OK.\u201d<\/p>\n

But Shai isn\u2019t surprised that the owl took a liking to her grandma.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy grandmother is the sweetest soul. She is a devout Catholic and attributes all that her life has become to the higher power,\u201d Shai said. \u201cHer sass and wit show that 98 is just a number\u2026 and her and my grandpa\u2019s relationship was such a sight to see that our whole family just treasured them as one.\u201d<\/p>\n
