When this bald eagle got injured, one man set his fears aside and provided the apex predator a helping hand.<\/p>\n
Meet Dr. Cliff Redford.
\nHe also goes by the name Dr. Cliff Worldwide Vet.<\/p>\n
According to his website, he owns and operates Wellington Veterinary Hospital where he is a seasoned vet.<\/p>\n
In addition to running WVH, he is a self-described media personality and animal rights advocate.<\/p>\n
In this case, he\u2019s also a hero.
\nJust a few months back, an injured bald eagle came into Dr. Cliff\u2019s clinic at Wellington Vet Hospital.<\/p>\n
If you haven\u2019t seen an eagle up-close, you\u2019d be fascinated not just by their size but also by their presence alone \u2013 they\u2019re majestic.<\/p>\n
Despite his expertise and experience, Dr. Cliff admitted that it was his first time treating a bird that big.<\/p>\n
However, he was up for the challenge because he was the bald eagle\u2019s only hope.<\/p>\n
America\u2019s national bird.

Dr. Cliff unhesitatingly took the job as an opportunity to save the nation\u2019s national bird.<\/p>\n
According to him, the bald eagle was accidentally shot by some duck hunters, causing her to fall onto the ground.<\/p>\n
The impact resulted in the eagle\u2019s wing bone being pushed through its skin.<\/p>\n
Dr. Cliff was the eagle\u2019s only chance in regaining its power to soar high again.<\/p>\n
That\u2019s why they wasted no time and started the surgery immediately.<\/p>\n
Time to heal that broken wing.<\/p>\n
The surgery went smoothly and it was just a matter of time before she completely recovered.<\/p>\n
The bald eagle whom they named \u201cWolf\u201d was eventually transported to a rehabilitation facility called Shades of Hope Wildlife Refuge in Ontario, Canada.<\/p>\n
The healing eagle\u2019s journey to full recovery was exactly how Dr. Cliff described it, \u201d fun.\u201d<\/p>\n
In this case, \u201cfun\u201d means challenging.<\/p>\n
He also added that the bald eagle was \u201can Apex predator and she was not interested in being in a cage.\u201d<\/p>\n
Apart from healing the wound, muscle and bone therapy were regularly done to Wolf so she\u2019d recover faster.<\/p>\n
\u201cTest flights\u201d were also performed to make sure that she\u2019d be able to fly without any problems once they set her free.<\/p>\n
It was Wolf\u2019s time to soar.
\nOne day, Dr. Cliff received a call telling him that Wolf was 100% ready to be set free.<\/p>\n
The completely healed bald eagle was set to be freed at the Niagara River and everyone was ecstatic to see Wolf spread her wings again.<\/p>\n
The kind vet who saved her gave her one last look before letting her go, and right when Dr. Cliff was examining her, Wolf gave him a remembrance.<\/p>\n
A surprise nip.
\nWhen he went to peek at her she nipped his finger pretty solidly, but Dr. Cliff immediately exclaimed \u201cI deserved it!\u201d.<\/p>\n
It was a good sign, though. She was ready to be released.<\/p>\n
Then, Wolf finally took flight.<\/p>\n
It was such a magnificent sight to see her giant wings and flying posture.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith a few flaps, she was up in the high blue yonder, soaring around, and there was almost a tear to my eye. It was a pretty magical moment,\u201d said Dr. Cliff, the person who gave Wolf another chance to be mighty and free.<\/p>\n
