Hollywood legend Gene Hackman, 95, and his wife, Betsy Arakawa, 65, were found dead in their New Mexico home under tragic circumstances.<\/p>\n
Arakawa passed away on February 11 from hantavirus, a rare and deadly virus linked to rodent droppings. Hackman, who suffered from advanced<\/p>\n
Alzheimer\u2019s and did not own a cellphone, likely did not realize what had happened and was unable to call for help. He is believed to have survived for<\/p>\n
about a week before dying from heart disease on February 18. Their bodies were discovered on February 26 in separate rooms of their Santa Fe estate,<\/p>\n
Authorities confirmed that while their home showed no signs of rodents, some outbuildings on the property had evidence of infestation. Hackman was<\/p>\n
found near the kitchen, possibly after a fall, with his cane and sunglasses nearby. Adding to the tragedy, their 12-year-old dog, Zinna, also died, likely<\/p>\n
