Suzanne Somers, popular TV actress from such shows as Three\u2019s Company and The Six Million Dollar Man, has sadly passed away.<\/p>\n
According to tragic reports, Somers died yesterday after a long battle with breast cancer, just one day shy of turning 77.<\/p>\n
It was no secret that the actress had been sick for some time, having first been diagnosed with breast cancer after a routine mammography in 2000.<\/p>\n
Despite her trials and tribulations, though, Somers remained upbeat and positive \u2013 indeed, she appeared to be excited for her future before her final Instagram posts shared hours before her passing.<\/p>\n
As per the Daily Mirror, the Magnum Force star offered her 256,000 followers a free gift on Saturday night \u2013 she also posted on Friday evening to tell them they could have a \u201cvery lucky Friday night\u201d.<\/p>\n
Last week, meanwhile, Somers expressed her excitement over the fact that it was her birthday month.<\/p>\n
\u201cGood morning!!!\u201d she wrote. \u201cIt\u2019s October which means, it\u2019s my birthday month!! So many exciting things happening.\u201d<\/p>\n
Needless to say, the actress\u2019s loss is one keenly felt. Fans flocked to the comments sections of her social media pages to pay tribute \u2013 they knew she was fighting cancer, of course, but Somers\u2019s death yet comes as a sudden shock.<\/p>\n
Earlier this year in August, the then-76-year-old shared a candid update on Instagram, writing:<\/p>\n
\u201c\u2026 As you know, I had breast cancer two decades ago, and every now and then it pops up again, and I continue to bat it down. I have used the best alternative and conventional treatments to combat it.\u201d<\/p>\n
Somers\u2019s death was confirmed yesterday by her publicist, R. Couri Hay, who told Page Six:<\/p>\n
\u201cSuzanne Somers passed away peacefully at home in the early morning hours of October 15th. She survived an aggressive form of breast cancer for over 23 years. Suzanne was surrounded by her loving husband Alan, her son Bruce, and her immediate family.\u201d<\/p>\n
Hay also explained that her family would now gather today to celebrate her birthday, instead of the reunion they had planned before her passing.<\/p>\n
