Fifth grade teacher Alexandra Stamps didn\u2019t hesitate to ask her students to be her bridesmaids and groomsmen on her special day.<\/p>\n
The Science and Technology Elementary School teacher from Wichita, Kansas, married fianc\u00e9 Mason McDowell in July, after nearly a year of dating.<\/p>\n
Mason, who is a third-grade teacher, also wanted his students involved in their big day.<\/p>\n
Not only did the couple invite their students to their wedding but asked them to be their bridesmaids and groomsmen.<\/p>\n
\u201cI love them and they\u2019re part of my life. I want them to be up there with me because they\u2019re my biggest fans,\u201d Alexandra told the Wichita Eagle.<\/p>\n
Alexandra recorded the moment she asked her students and shared it to TikTok where it quickly went viral with over 19 million views.<\/p>\n
Alexandra begins the video by saying: \u201cI\u2019m about to ask my students to be part of my wedding.<\/p>\n
It then shows her in her classroom as she tells her students: \u201cOkay, so I have a really important question to ask you guys.<\/p>\n
\u201cKhloe, Mary, Reagan, Angelina, Esmeralda, Lucy, Lily, Bella, Harley \u2013 will you guys be my junior bridesmaids in my wedding?\u201d she asks, to which the girls respond: \u201cYes!\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cBryland, Max, Eric, Emilio, Kayden, Will, Conner, Jessie, Jose, and Sebastian \u2013 will you guys be my junior groomsmen?\u201d she then asks to which the boys immediately reply with: \u201cYes!\u201d<\/p>\n
Alexandra said their students were so excited to be asked and about six or seven of them started crying.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe spend over forty hours a week with them, and we both really love our students so much,\u201d Alexandra said of the reason why she and her husband asked their students.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd so I thought it would be kind of fun to include them in the festivities instead of just having them in the audience.<\/p>\n
\u201cI just want to give them this special part of my life. I want them to be part of it because I\u2019m so proud of the hard work that they\u2019ve done this year, and the fact that they\u2019ve not only survived the pandemic \u2014 but thrived in it \u2014 and watching them grow as people this school year, they deserve to be up there with me.\u201d<\/p>\n
Alexandra said she checked with the students\u2019 parents first to make sure it would be okay for them to take part and gifted the girls faux pearl necklaces and the boys colorful sunglasses. After she proposed to the students they all got rainbow-striped lollipops.<\/p>\n
