camp at Renzie Park in McKeesport. Sitting under a tree to escape the heat, she was warned by her husband, Bill, who heard it crack<\/p>\n
moments before it fell. Bill escaped with a minor scrape, but Gendie was pinned by heavy limbs and later died at Forbes Hospital.<\/p>\n
A devoted mother and constant supporter of youth softball, Gendie was deeply loved in the local sports community for her kindness,<\/p>\n
loyalty, and encouragement at her daughter Marlee\u2019s games. Friends and coaches remembered her as someone who always put others first.<\/p>\n
