Authorities in Florence County have charged multiple Myrtle Beach teens in connection with the June 24, 2025 death of 16-year-old Trey Dean<\/p>\n
Wright following a late-night dispute in Johnsonville. Nine individuals are currently involved in the case, with one more expected to surrender soon.<\/p>\n
Investigators believe the teens acted together and are treating them as accomplices under South Carolina law. Among those charged<\/p>\n
is 19-year-old Devan R., arrested the day after the incident. Others involved range in age from 17 to 18, with some released on<\/p>\n
bond while others await court dates in detention. Four additional suspects, including juveniles, have not had their roles publicly detailed.<\/p>\n
Wright, a student-athlete at Johnsonville High School who played football and baseball, is remembered by friends and family as kind,<\/p>\n
bright, and full of joy. A celebration of life was held on July 3, and a fundraiser raised over $6,000 to cover funeral expenses.<\/p>\n
