dementia steadily robs him of language and communication. The Die Hard star, 70, was diagnosed more than three years ago.<\/p>\n
Emma, 47, is preparing to release a memoir, Unexpected Journey: Finding Strength, Hope, and Yourself on the Caregiving Path,<\/p>\n
documenting her family\u2019s experience and offering guidance to others caring for loved ones with dementia. In an ABC interview,<\/p>\n
she shared: \u201cBruce is still very mobile. He\u2019s in really great health overall, you know. It\u2019s just his<\/p>\n
brain that is failing him. The language is going\u2026 and we\u2019ve learned to adapt.\u201d<\/p>\n
At first, Emma admitted she tried to handle everything alone, leaving her exhausted and isolated. Over time,<\/p>\n
she realized the importance of support networks, both for herself and for their daughters, Mabel, 13, and Evelyn, 11.<\/p>\n
The family, including Bruce\u2019s three daughters with Demi Moore, still cherish fleeting moments when his old spark shines through.<\/p>\n
Bruce now lives in a nearby care residence for round-the-clock support. Emma called it \u201cone of the hardest decisions\u201d<\/p>\n
