I was walking down the street when I was accosted by a particularly dirty and shabby-looking homeless man who asked me for a couple of dollars for dinner. I took out my wallet, extracted ten dollars and asked, \u201cIf I give you this money, will you buy some beer with it instead of dinner?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cNo, I had to stop drinking years ago,\u201d the homeless man replied.<\/p>\n
\u201cWill you use it to go fishing instead of buying food?\u201d I asked.<\/p>\n
\u201cNo, I don\u2019t waste time fishing,\u201d the man said. \u201cI need to spend all my time trying to stay alive.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWill you spend this on hunting equipment?\u201d I asked.<\/p>\n
\u201cAre you NUTS!\u201d he cried. \u201cI haven\u2019t gone hunting in 20 years!\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWell,\u201d I said, \u201cI\u2019m not going to give you money. Instead, I\u2019m going to take you home for a shower and a terrific dinner cooked by my wife.\u201d<\/p>\n
The homeless man was astounded. \u201cWon\u2019t your wife be furious with you for doing that?\u201d<\/p>\n
