Martin Brown\u2019s journey with ADUs began when he moved to Portland.<\/p>\n

As the family grew with the arrival of his son, Sebastian, there was another family member who wished to be closer: Martin\u2019s mother-in-law.

But how could they ensure she had her own space while staying close?<\/p>\n
The answer lay right in their backyard.<\/p>\n
The family\u2019s garage, which had been sitting unused, presented the perfect opportunity.<\/p>\n
Instead of delving into the real estate market searching for a new property, Martin had a brilliant idea.<\/p>\n
Why not repurpose the garage into a comfortable home for grandma?<\/p>\n
And with that thought, the wheels of transformation were set in motion.<\/p>\n
The design process was meticulous.
\nEvery square foot was to be utilized to its maximum potential.<\/p>\n

Fitted with a queen-sized bed and a snug reading nook, it\u2019s the perfect place to unwind.<\/p>\n
The stairs leading up to the loft are ingeniously designed, alternating in tread to save space.<\/p>\n
